THE LANGUAGE OF TEXTILE DESIGN ~ DISCOVERY AND EXPERIMENT WITH NATURAL DYES

A fabulously fun workshop introducing you to a variety of textile ways and techniques with natural dyes. Indigo, madder, marigold and other traditional dyestuffs will make up our gorgeous palette. We will explore ancient printing and painting methods with clay resist and print pastes using stencils and blocks (you will design and carve these in the studio), as well as overlayering of dye colors. You will come away with a textile portfolio on lovely silk and organic Indian cotton yardage which can be sewn into things or left as a tapestry.
